The Fonodeon A30 is a stereo audio power amplifier operating in single-ended class-A mode.
It is a simple design, similar in principle to the single-ended tube amplifiers. The distortion is dominated by the second harmonic, and the sound is natural and liquid.
A-30 amplifier is consistent with a dual-mono design philosophy. Both the left and right channels are totally separated and powered singly by two toroidal transformers mounted in a metal shield encased in epoxy for effective damping.
In addition to standard fuse protection, the A30 also has thermal protection against all potential hazards. Protection sections are galvanically insulated from analog sections to minimize noise.
Turning the amplifier on/off is done by means of a button located on the front panel and/or remotely from the Fonodeon P21 Preamplifier. The front panel LEDs indicate the current operating status of the amplifier: the power supply status of each channel and the correct polarity of the voltage supply at the AC plug connector.
